When I talk about success in your creative business, I always always add personal to the sentence. Remembering that success is a very personal thing and will look different for absolutely everyone, is key. And there are a few things that can help you achieve personal success in your creative business, of which five of them begin with Cs and I’m going to chat about them today - The 5 Cs in your Creative Business.
One of the five Cs was obviously going to be creativity. It might sound like a given, but for you to achieve personal success in your creative business, creativity is key in many senses.
There are a surge of creative businesses starting every minute of every day. And so for yours to stand out amongst these, and more importantly your direct competitors, you need to be creative in all you do. From your products to how you market them, showing your skills and ability in all that you do.
If you’re going to position yourself as a creative, creativity is key to get noticed and give your audience a sense of conviction to trust you and buy from you.
I absolutely couldn’t have got to where I am without this second C - community.
From my time in the wedding industry to my transition away from it, what has been a constant in allowing for my success has been the people around me, from who I am working with on my team to the people I meet along the way to inspire me, offer advice and friendship.
Community can really help you with your personal success in your creative business by these ways too. Knowing your values when working out your brand identity is key, and then working with people that align with those and knowing we can’t do it all on our own.
Build your own community to keep you going on those tough days.
Maybe one of the most important ones, but arguably others are too. However, caring about all of your business, what you’re putting out there, who you are working with and how you work will make all the difference for your personal success in your creative business.
I pride myself in deeply caring about all of the details that build up my brand and business, and this shines through in the results and my clients’ comments. I recommend this for yours too.
This can be one that a lot of struggle with, especially us sensitive souls. But for real personal success in our creative business, we need to have the confidence to take it so where we want to. To put ourselves out there, to push ourselves out of our comfort zones and to be the face of our brands.
If this is something you struggle with I recommend really immersing yourself in your brand - you will always feel more confident when talking about your passions and your story, as it’s about you.
And if all fails remember you started your business - that took so much confidence. You really have got it inside of you.
This may feel like a pretty obvious one, but there are various levels when I talk about consistency in your creative business.
To allow for personal success in your creative business you will of course need to be consistent in terms of what you do, posting on socials, when you blog, etc., however another element of consistency for me is having a real uniformed brand identity and remembering all that you do.
This will allow you to stand out from your competitors, it will elevate your brand and it will enable trust for your clients and customers. Ensure all you are putting out there on all platforms is consistently inline.
Whilst I’m sure there are other things you could do to allow for personal success in your creative business, these five Cs are a wonderful starting point and will make a huge difference. They will allow for a heartfelt and successful brand that will stand the test of time.
I hope this helps you for your personal success in your creative business.
